I lead a research group which has been studying distributed and parallel computation, and cloud/edge network data storage systems. Edge computing is a core element of cloud and 6G networks, especially in supporting the Internet-of Things and ultra-low latency applications. Data store and access management is one of the key challenges in edge computing. This research focuses on data management and performance optimization in edge computing, which resorts to erasure-resilient coding and advanced machine learning techniques to improve the user Quality-of-Experience. My recent research has been supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, and some industries. I have the cooperating research experience with some colleagues at City University of Hong Kong, University of Exeter, UK, and University of California, Santa Cruz, USA.


In recent years, I have published over 30 research papers in distributed storage systems across clouds and edges in some premier international journals and conferences, such as IEEE Trans. COM/TVT, IEEE/ACM IPDPS, IEEE ICDCS, ACM MultiMedia, IEEE MSST, SRDS, ICC, GLOBECOMM, ISIT and ITW etc..
