The Department of Computer Science was established in 1979 with the mission of cultivating applied senior specialized talents who can adapt to the needs of regional economic and social development and information construction. Through continuous construction, the conditions and quality of education have been improved, and laboratory construction, faculty team construction, curriculum construction, and online teaching environment construction have been continuously strengthened. The Department of Computer Science has formed an excellent team of teachers with high professional ethics and equal emphasis on knowledge and ability. In the team, there are not only famous teachers (2) and model worker in Tianjin, but also a group of outstanding backbone teachers, such as national outstanding youth, Tianjin distinguished professors, new century talents of the Ministry of Education, 131 innovative talents, and outstanding young teachers who have won the first and second prizes in the national and Tianjin teachers' basic skills competitions. In 2008, it was approved as a teaching team for the "Computer Science and Technology" major in Tianjin; In 2013, it was approved as a teaching innovation team for the "Computer Science and Technology" major in Tianjin. We have supporting platforms such as National Engineering Laboratory, Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education, Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education, and Tianjin Key Laboratory. In 2013, a doctoral program in computer science and technology was established, and in 2014, it was approved as a postdoctoral research station, becoming the only computer science discipline in Tianjin municipal universities with a complete training system for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees in computer science.
